Downtown Phillipsburg is an attractive place with a beautiful courthouse square lined with trees and nostalgic brick streets, conveniently located on HWY 36 & 183. Surrounding the unique square are several well maintained historic buildings forming a warm & welcoming back drop as the gathering center of the community for shopping, entertainment, dining, and most importantly friends. Community members and visitors-people of all ages- flock to the downtown district filled with a wide variety of retail and service businesses that serve both local and regional markets. Downtown is the cultural and entertainment center for the community, featuring the Majestic Theater, Community Building, local and regional history, festivals and special events, making downtown Phillipsburg a much desired destination.

Successful economic development strategies have created a strong economic revitalization of the district, including job creation and a larger tax base, while providing needed services and products for community members, and improving the quality of life. Downtown is a place of opportunity and success.

Financial & Design Assistance

Discover Phillipsburg Main Street can provide financial and design assistance to members in the designated downtown area.

Incentives Without Walls Program (IWW) offers an incentive package in the form of no-interest or low-interest loans to stimulate private investment in the downtown designated area and to create jobs, save existing jobs, develop new businesses or strengthen existing businesses, provide a stronger tax base and restore historic architectural features.

Design Assistance is offered to downtown businesses interested in making improvements to the exterior of their buildings.
